Chad Launches New Odd Form System
Odd-form component handling system.
Anaheim, CA — Chad Industries, Inc. has shipped the first production IQs, the latest addition to its line of Odd-Form Component Placement platforms. The IQs provides a new lower-cost Odd Form circuit board assembly solution, while maintaining reliability. The new IQs platform integrates all of the company's Odd Form patented technologies, including grippers, feeders and clinching.

The new IQs also takes advantage of the Adept Cobra s600 robot which offers greatly reduced electrical integration costs and improved cycle time.

The new assembly system is described as a significant evolution in odd-form component assembly systems. It utilizes the latest in high performance robotic technology to provide exceptional value and productivity for today's electronics manufacturers.

The IQs integrates the company's patented PIE 3D compliant gripper and patented single pin clinching mechanism. In combination, these elements are said to create the most cost-effective, flexible Odd Form insertion system available, capable of handling any Odd Form components without a tool change. The IQs is also 100 percent compatible with the full line of the company's component feeders.
