Remstar Shuttle VLM Raises Productivity
Vertical Lift Module provides quick and easy access.
Westbrook, ME — Remstar's intelligent design tray access for Shuttle
®
Vertical Lift Module (VLM) reportedly improves the efficiency and productivity of order-picking in electronic storage and retrieval operations. Using intelligent tray access, the system automatically tracks the number of times specific trays are accessed by the operator. Trays accessed most frequently are stored closest to the access opening for faster delivery, increasing operator productivity.
The more often the system is used, the more intelligent it becomes. For example, seasonal items are stored further away from the access opening during off season, but will be stored closer as seasonal demand increases the use of a particular tray.
The Shuttle Vertical Lift Module (VLM) is an enclosed system of vertically arranged trays, an extraction platform and a series of computerized controls that allow operators to stay in one place as the Shuttle VLM delivers items to an ergonomically positioned workstation. The VLM automatically locates and retrieves stored items with the push of a button or the scan of a barcode.
