Intros Improved Proto Materials
Atlanta, GA — Quickparts
®
is now offering new, improved materials for Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and Stereolithography (SLA) rapid prototyping applications. The company now provides two new SLS materials, Flame Retardant Nylon (ALM FR-106) and Durable Nylon (Duraform EX). Flame Retardant Nylon is a polyamide blend specifically engineered for parts requiring excellent fire retardant characteristics.
The new rapid fire retardant material is a durable and tough Nylon 11, offering flexibility and impact resistance while still maintaining superior mechanical properties. Flame Retardant Nylon is especially suitable in producing anything from functional prototypes to production parts.
According to the company, the new Durable Nylon (Duraform EX) provides outstanding toughness and excellent impact resistance. The material provides the toughness of injection-molded plastic that motorsport, aerospace, and automotive industries require for demanding prototyping and low-to-mid-volume manufacturing applications. Durable Nylon is especially suitable for the manufacture of electronics enclosures, manifolds, impellers, and snap-fit designs because of its stiffness, long-term stability and durability.
Now also available is the new SLA High-Impact ABS-Like (DMX) which produces very accurate parts with high feature detail.
The new materials used for rapid prototyping applications are manufactured under high quality control standards. Detailed quality control test results are provided with each shipment of material to certify conformance for the more rigorous production specifications typically encountered in rapid manufacturing applications.
