Prem: New Switchmode Transformers
Switchmode transformer.
Johnsburg, IL — Prem Magnetics, Inc. has introduced a new printed circuit mount transformer for AC-to-DC Converter applications. The SPP-3004 is designed for use in conjunction with the TNY254 TinySwitch™ integrated off-line switching power supply chip from Power Integrations, Inc. The device is designed to meet the creepage and clearance distance minimums for reinforced insulation.

Possible applications include inputs of 85 to 265VAC and 2 DC outputs ranging from 6.0VDC up to 10.0VDC, or 1 DC output ranging from 12.0VDC up to 24.0VDC at a maximum power of 4.0 Watts. The dielectric strength (HIPOT) is rated at 4,000V rms, and the bobbin material is classified UL 94V-0. The dimensions for the SPP-3004 are 0.717-in. (18.20mm) x 0.630-in. (16.00mm) x 0.697-in. (17.70mm).
