New SMD Rotary DIP Switches from Omron
Rotary DIP switches.
Schaumburg, IL — Omron Electronic Components LLC is introducing the new A6RS series of gull-winged terminal surface mounted (SMD) rotary DIP switches for static function-select settings on control boards. These top-actuated switches are available with flat or extended shafts, 10 position (decimal) or 16 position (hexadecimal) outputs and terminal arrangements of 4 x1 and 3 x 3, which allow for flexibility in circuit design.
The switches all have highly visible legends with an arrow on the actuator to aid in making proper code settings. These RoHS compliant switches are designed to withstand peak reflow temperatures of 260°C and are especially suitable for use in applications that are commonly found in HVAC, Medical, and Security equipment.
The new switches have a contact rating of 25mA at 24VDC with initial contact resistance of 200mΩ maximum. It operates in an ambient operating temperature range of -25 to +80°C, and can be supplied in tubes or on tape-and-reel.
According to the company, the DIP switches allow manufacturers the flexibility to use a control board in multiple applications. Rotary DIP switches allow for easy setting by the end user as specified in their instruction manual. The A6RS product extends the flexibility in design with all of its options.
