Vision Engng: Cost Effective Video Measurement
Video measurement system.
New Milford, CT — Vision Engineering is introducing the Merlin 300 — a new 2-axis video measurement system. The extremely sophisticated unit reportedly delivers an exceptional price-to-performance ratio and is easy to operate. According to the company, the system delivers excellent repeatability and reproducibility, in a quality system that allows users to virtually "plug and play". By offering the video image solution to measuring parts, the system increases accuracy and repeatability by removing the potential for operator error.

The new system package includes a dedicated Quadra-Chek 300 (QC300) video microprocessor with modern touch-screen technology including Video Edge Detection (VED). This package provides for fast, higher throughput measurements — especially suitable for batch routines or measurement of form features.

The Merlin 300, with its compact footprint and high specification camera, also allows operators to benefit from a unique contrast teach facility, enabling the operator to easily determine the component edge. And, the QC300 is equipped with the capabilities for automated point data capture with full PC connectivity.

Completing the Merlin 300 package are high numerical aperture objective lenses maximizing illumination efficiency and long life dimmable LED surface and sub-stage illumination.
