Electrolube: Two New Coating Products
Peelable PCS protective coating.
Swadlincote, Derbyshire, UK — Electrolube will launch two innovative new products — Resin Stop, a new coating created using fluoropolymer technology, and PCS, a new peelable coating mask, designed to withstand coating and wave soldering processes. The new peelable coating mask, PCS, is water based and environmentally friendly. The orange mask changes to a darker color once cured. PCS peels very easily after the cure process. Non-corrosive to most substrates, the new coating mask is a flexible synthetic acrylic latex with good solvent resistance making it especially suitable for masking components, connectors and other items during a conformal coating process. It ensures that sensitive items and areas requiring further processing are not coated and is particularly suitable for protecting areas from ingress of conformal coating, e.g. pin connectors, adjustable pots and IC sockets. The high film strength of PCS means that it can be peeled by hand without breaking or leaving residues. It is suitable for use with dip, spray or brush applied conformal coatings and is both low in odor and free from ammonia.
The new fluoropolymer coating, Resin Stop, is well suited for coating machinery, jigs, molds and other substrates of aluminum, stainless steel, glass and numerous plastics which are likely to come into contact with resin. Once applied to the substrate, Resin Stop provides a dry film that prevents most epoxy and polyurethane resins from adhering. Once the resin has fully cured it can then simply be peeled off. The new coating, once applied, also offers multiple release cycles which help to increase productivity by eliminating the need to clean mold tools and similar equipment.
