Austin American: Steam-Capable Batch Cleaner
Burnet, TX — Austin American Technology is unveiling the AquaTherm, an innovative, new batch cleaning system. The new system has an unusual, flexible cleaning system that offers performance and capability previously unavailable in a small, energy-efficient footprint. Aqueous wash for water soluble fluxes, or aqueous with additives (rinse aid, defoamer, wash chemistry) for rosin/resin fluxes are easily configured. This flexibility, along with steam cleaning capability with the unit's onboard steam generator, provides the most powerful batch cleaner available.
Key success factors in cleaning are time and temperature, and the new system's high temperature wash capability (200°F) greatly exceeds the 160°F industry standard. That, combined with user-selectable cycle time, wash additive metering, and available steam enhancement, provides flexibility to optimize the cleaning process for almost any application.
Blind areas are virtually eliminated with top, middle, and bottom coherent jet spray nozzles and easily-configured racks. A HEPA filtered, forced-air dryer makes the AquaTherm suitable for precision cleaning applications, such as parts, microcircuitry and semiconductors.
Other features include mirror-bright Type 304 stainless steel interior, glass viewing window in the door, height adjustable racks and an onboard high temperature heater. System control is via PLC with touchpad operator interface and alphanumeric readout. A variety of chemical metering and effluent management options are also available.
The unit offers this advanced cleaning capability and versatility in the cost-effective format of a batch cleaner. Capital investment, water and energy usage are much lower than larger, less flexible systems.
