Universal's Genesis Accelerates Productivity
Genesis high-speed assembly platform.
Binghamton, NY — Universal Instruments' Genesis Platform accelerates manufacturing velocity with extra-high throughput, using Lightning Head technology to deliver what is reportedly the industry's fastest spec and real speeds with no derate for 01005-20mm square components. High-speed feeders with standard 0201 capability provide fast, precise component presentation making this platform the leader in cost per placement and throughput per square meter.

Genesis leverages patented tools for precise small part performance and outstanding yields to accelerate financial return. A high-speed, high-accuracy (1-micron) VRM linear motor positioning system serves as the foundation for precision. High-magnification on-the-head cameras and automatic Z and theta update at pick-and-place ensure lower part attrition and the highest possible yields.

The system uses mature, leading-edge technologies on a proven platform with fewer moving parts to facilitate low maintenance requirements and minimal downtime. The linear motor requires just over one hour of maintenance every six weeks, while the vacuum-generating, non-contaminating Lightning spindles can be exchanged in five minutes or serviced without removing the placement head.
