Axiohm Intros Fast, Robust Thermal Printer

Cincinnati, OH — Axiohm has launched its latest thermal printer mechanism, the MGTA, which provides a solution to printing problems in numerous markets. According to the company, the MGTA thermal printer mechanism combines high performance with polyvalence.

The new printer offers a speed that the company says ranks among the fastest in its category (up to 180mm/s), printing silently and designed to prevent paper jams. The printer uses a long-lasting guillotine cutter that is warranted up to 1 million cuts.

The robust printer reportedly offers top mechanical reliability warranted for up to 100km of printed paper. The mechanism is also capable of withstanding extended temperature ranges from -20 to +60°C.

The company states that the printer can reasonably cover the printing needs of a variety of applications within the transportation, gaming, self service kiosks, Point of Sales and ATM sectors. The product combining features that are specific to individual applications and consequently, the company can now provide a solution to many requirements with a single product. The printer is suitable not only for the most common applications, but also provides a high-performing and reliable printing solution in the most demanding environments.

Because of its ultra-robust guillotine cutter, the printer is capable of printing on paper up to 120µm thick, which is very often used in Transportation applications.

Available in two paper widths: 80mm (standard payment receipt size) and 82.5mm (standard gaming ticket size), the printer's robust motor is capable of enduring high peaks in printing demand, making the printer particularly suitable for POS and gaming applications.
