LDS Test Intros Next Gen Data Acquisition System
Data acquisition system.
Middleton, WI — LDS Test and Measurement has introduced a next-generation Data Acquisition System that reportedly combines high speed, gap-free data recording with real time FFT analysis. Called the Dimension 4i, the system brings together the technologies of Nicolet, Gould, and Dactron to result in a 16-channel, self-contained system capable of streaming all channels to its removable hard drive at 200kS/s per channel. It can simultaneously process frequency domain measurements at more than 80kHz real time bandwidth. Each channel uses 24-bit analog to digital converters for maximum resolution and accuracy.

The Dimension 4i includes: removable hard drive, DVD RW drive, PCI expansion slot, dual waveform generators, real-time digital filtering, on-board report generation and data export. The unit complements the highly successful Nicolet Vision product. It contains all of the powerful features of Vision, plus a whole new array of additional innovations.

According to the company, the 15-in. high-resolution touch-screen display provides a system user interface that is simple to operate as the user navigates through test setup, display customization, measurement, analysis, data export, and on-board report generation in a logical, yet non-tedious sequence.

Post analysis and advanced reporting are managed using the Perception 4.0 software package.

The Dimension 4i is highly modular and expandable. The initial release offers both a voltage isolation input module (1000V input range), and an accelerometer module (ICP, AC, DC, TEDS). Additional signal conditioning modules will be introduced in coming weeks.
