B K Intros 2 Low-Cost DDS Sweep Gens
Low-cost sweep generator.
Yorba Linda, CA — B+K Precision has introduced Models 4007DDS and 4013DDS Sweep Function Generators, which utilize an advanced Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) design to generate quality waveforms with high signal precision and stability.

The units provide sine- and square-wave outputs over the frequency range from 0.1Hz to 7MHz (Model 4007DDS) and 0.1Hz to 12MHz (Model 4013DDS). The units also have extended range (triangle/ramped) outputs to 100kHz for the Model 4007DDS and 1MHz for Model 4013DDS. The sweep output waveforms can be linear or logarithmic, internally swept, up or down, over the full unit range. The sweep start and stop frequencies can be independently adjusted and the sweep rate can be set from 100ms to 30s. All waveforms are internally generated with amplitudes to 10V p-p into 50Ω. An offset generator allows generation of low amplitude signals with large offsets.

According to the company, front panel operation with an easy-to-read 4 digit LCD display makes the units easy to operate. Parameter changes and data entry can be made using the front panel up or down keys and modified with the rotary knob.

Applications include use in educational environments, R&D, manufacturing test systems, and service and repair. They measure 3.5 x 8.3 x 8.4-in. (88 x 210 x 213mm) and weigh 4.4lbs (2kg).
