Astrodyne Intros Compact Open-Frame Switchers
150W switching supplies.
Mansfield MA — To meet the space and performance requirements for instrumentation, control, and telecommunication systems, Astrodyne Corporation has introduced the ASL150 Series of high density, open frame switching power supplies. Designed to deliver 150W of output power, these compact units exhibit power densities greater than 17W/in.3, which is more than double the industry standard. A low, 1.08-in. profile makes these units particularly appropriate for 1U applications.

All ASL150 Series models accept universal input from 90-264VAC. Four models are available that provide single outputs of 5VDC to 48VDC. The ASL150 modules occupy a small mechanical footprint measuring only 2 x 4 x 1.08-in. The switchers are said to deliver efficiencies up to 90 percent with 30 percent less power dissipation than competing products.

All models contain overvoltage, overcurrent and short circuit protection circuitry, and have Molex-style I/O connectors. The power supplies are fully approved to CSA/NTRL, NEMKO safety specifications. Medically approved non-commercial versions are also available.
