GORE Intros Internally Ruggedized Medical Cable
Cable resists rollover.
Elkton, MD — W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) has launched GORE
Internally Ruggedized Medical Cable that reportedly provides excellent durability while remaining lightweight and flexible. This technology improves crush, torque and kink resistance, extending cable life and reliability in demanding medical applications such as video endoscopy and powered surgical procedures.
According to the company, the ruggedized cable design ensures reliable video images and consistent electrical performance where it is most critical. Advances in medical equipment and increased expectations for reliable performance require improved cable robustness. To meet these application needs, the company developed a cost-effective medical cable to help improve the reliability of their customers' products.
The new ruggedized medical cable is designed for use in applications where caster rollover, floor contact or cable torque is present. Other potential applications include surgical handpieces, foot switches or more general powered surgical instruments.
