Weller: Affordable Hot Air Station
Hot air station.
Apex, NC — Cooper Hand Tools has introduced the new user-friendly Weller® WHA900 Hot Air Station, which provides high-end capabilities at a low cost.

To increase productivity, the hot air station has a closed-loop feedback control that maintains the desired temperature at the nozzle, independent of the airflow rate, when an ultra-precise temperature is required. The sensor, located inside the nozzle, adjusts the heat output based on the user's pre-selected setting. This improves productivity since users don't have to interrupt their work to re-adjust the temperature with each change in airflow rate.

With temperature airflow and setback sensing capabilities, the WHA900 can satisfy high-performance, lead-free soldering rework demands. Its hot air pencil, usable with a wide range of nozzles, yields a 650-watt output and a temperature range of 100 to 1,000°F — for removing SMD components from a circuit board for rework.

All of the company's systems, including the WH900, use patented nozzle technology; conducted heat from an integral hot plate heats the defective component to a temperature just below the solder melting point. The unit then directs hot air precisely onto the legs of the component to melt the solder joint and allow the user to remove the defective part without damaging adjacent components.
