ELCOMP India 2007 Scheduled for September
New Delhi, India — The 3rd ELCOMP India 2007 International Exhibition and Conference will be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on September 12-14, 2007. According to show managers, there has already been an "overwhelming response" from the global electronics industry, with 70 percent of the total exhibit space sold out by mid-June.
Theme of the two-day conference is "Electronic Manufacturing — Destination India", and this is being promoted extensively throughout the subcontinent as well as to the global electronics manufacturing community.
The encouraging response to ELCOMP India 2006 was evident with more diversified groups of exhibitors choosing the show, and a dynamic visitor turnout, which grew by 50 percent over the previous year. ELCOMP India 2006 introduced for the first time the unique concept of "Buyers' Village" which brought together buyers — large multinationals and domestic companies — and a wide range of manufacturers as their potential vendors. It was an unqualified success and participating companies were highly pleased with the results. The "Vendor Meets" were also a major draw providing exposure and opportunity for a large number of SMEs to interact with global buyers under one roof. These Vendor Meets will be extended to three days this year and all major EMS companies and IPOs of global MNCs are expected to participate.
The show will have a 60 percent larger exhibit area this year: 1,800 square meters; 70 percent of this space (1,200 sq. meters) sold out by mid-June. Show management expects a larger business visitor turnout — at least 8,000 trade visitors (up from 4261 visitors last year).
The only electronics trade show in India, it has been certified by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce. India's major Electronic Hardware Associations that are participating include CEAMA, CLIK, ELIAP, IPCA, ISA, MAIT, SMTA, TEMA.
