Unmanned Vehicles Show in DC
Arlington, VA — The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) has scheduled its annual convention and exhibition for the Washington Convention Center, Washington, DC, on August 6-9, 2007. AUVSI's Unmanned Systems North America 2007, will be the largest in the Association's 35 year history. With 230,000 gross square feet (over 70,000 square meters) of exhibit space and more than 275 international exhibitors, this show is the largest of its kind and the only event that brings together all unmanned disciplines including air, ground, and maritime, for the most extensive display of robotic and unmanned systems hardware in the world.
The conference will include plenary sessions featuring the following distinguished speakers: Lt. Gen. Donald J. Hoffman, Military Deputy, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition; Major General Gary L. Harrell, Deputy Commanding General, United States Army Special Operations Command; Rear Admiral Timothy McGee, Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command; Tan Peng Yam, Deputy Chief Executive (Technology), Defence Science & Technology Agency, Singapore; Dr. Delores M. Etter, Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition; Chief Donald L. Shinnamon, Sr., Chief of Public Safety, Holly Hills Florida; and Aviation Committee Chair, International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
More than 4,000 international visitors, including key leaders and decision-makers from industry, government organizations and academia, will attend and have the opportunity to hear the latest program updates and reports on industry trends and activities in 60 different technical sessions. Authors of 60 Poster Sessions highlighting government program updates, technology briefings and operational reports will also present their reports in a special segment of the exhibit hall. On Monday, August 6th full conference registrants can attend a live unmanned systems demonstration at Webster Field at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in St. Inigoes, MD.
