Bud Intros Transparent NEMA Circuit Enclosure
Transparent protective enclosure.
Cleveland, OH — Bud Industries, Inc. has introduced the first totally transparent NEMA-rated enclosure — the newest addition to the company's complete line of environmentally sealed enclosures. Because users can see inside the BT Series box from every direction, users can inspect for moisture and read indicators without opening the seal, leading to more reliable environmental protection of electronic components.
The new enclosures are made of a transparent plastic with a distinctive blue tint and meets NEMA 1, 2, 4, 4X, 12, and 13 IEC52/IP65, and UL508-4X specifications. Unlike other NEMA enclo sures, the see-through design of the BT Series eliminates the need to remove the cover and risk damaging the silicon-gasket cover seal. Suitable for wet, dry and corrosive environments, the boxes are especially suitable for PC board enclosures, junction boxes, instrumentation, and other applications that require monitoring of internal components.
The new transparent NEMA-rated enclosures are available in seven sizes ranging from 4.53 x 3.54 x 2.17-in. to 11.81 x 9.06 x 3.39-in. Wall mounting holes and cover attaching screws are outside the sealing area, thus preventing ingress of moisture and dust. Most models have internal guide slots for mounting PC board assemblies vertically. Internal bosses allow mounting of PC boards horizontally or for connection of terminals into threaded brass inserts. The polycarbonate plastic is UV-stabilized and carries a UL94-V2 flammability rating.
