ITW Chemtronics Intros Lead-Free Flux
Lead-free soldering flux.
Kennesaw, GA — ITW Chemtronics has introduced a new lead-free soldering flux to its CircuitWorks® line of benchtop circuit board repair and rework products. CircuitWorks Lead-Free Flux is specifically designed for soldering and desoldering applications where lead-free solder alloys are being employed.

The new product is halide-free, non-corrosive and meets Bellcore and IPC standards. Its instant wetting action provides superior de-oxidation of metal surfaces to insure the cleanest surfaces for solder bond formation. The flux reportedly has excellent material compatibility, is fast drying and RoHS compliant. Its high thermal stability minimizes charring at the higher soldering temperatures needed for lead-free solder alloys.

The new flux can also be used when soldering with conventional tin-lead solder. The convenient quart sized container makes this product especially suitable for OEM and small board repair shops.
