Reed Exhibitions Greater China Supports Red Cross Fundraising for Charity
SHANGHAI, CHINA Reed Exhibitions Greater China, the country’s leading events organizer, supported the 6th annual International Church of Shanghai (ICS) Charity Golf Tournament, held at Silport Golf Club in Kunshan. Golf enthusiasts faced off in June for a good cause, with Reed being a major sponsor of the event.

The one-day activity took place on June 6 and participants raised over RMB 625,000 for underprivileged families. Speaking of the company’s decision to be a Gold Sponsor, President of Reed Exhibitions Greater China Nat Wong, said, “We readily agreed to support the 6th Annual ICS Charity Golf Tournament Fundraiser because we believe it to be the socially responsible thing to do. Reed holds more shows in Shanghai than anywhere else in China so, in many ways, this city is our home. We consider it a privilege to get involved with charity efforts here.” Mr. Wong is also the Chairman of the ICS Charity Committee.

The funds generated through the highly competitive, fun-filled, philanthropic effort shall be distributed to recipients by the Changning District Red Cross (part of the Shanghai Red Cross). The donations will reach recipients directly, without deductions for administration, and be used to aid poor families, some of them with critically ill relatives.

Following the conclusion of the tournament, ICS Charity Committee members joined the Red Cross in a ceremony to hand over the contribution to the District Chief of Changning and accompanied Red Cross Team to the homes of the most critically needful recipients of the donations.

Reed’s support for the golf tournament charity event is consistent with the company’s ethos of practical actions for social responsibility. The initiative has enhanced employee-employer relations and boosted goodwill among colleagues, as well as members of the local Shanghai community, by bringing all together for fun, fitness and fellowship.
