ACE Expands Board Size and Soldering Area
Selective soldering system with expanded PCB size.
Spokane Valley, WA — ACE Production Technologies, Inc., a supplier of selective soldering systems, has enlarged the board size and soldering area of its KISS-102 selective soldering machine to meet customer requirements for increased flexibility.

The board size and soldering area of the popular KISS-102 has been expanded from 12 x 12-in. (300 x 300mm) to 16 x 16-in. (406 x 406mm) with no increase in machine footprint and at no additional cost. This means the machine is now capable of soldering much larger printed circuit boards and offers many of the same features as the KISS-102IL in-line selective soldering system, but in a standalone platform.

A wide range of various flux types can be applied by the machine with either an atomizing flux applicator for rapid application or a precision drop-jet applicator for no-clean processing. A considerable advantage of the ACE flux applicators is that they are unlike any others and utilize rugged yet simple construction that allows them to outperform all other applicators by handling a wide range of flux chemistries including low pH fluxes down to 2.0 as well as fluxes with solids content as high as 35 percent.

A fully configured selective soldering platform, the KISS-102 is equipped with "Super Quick" Z-axis motion and closed-loop positioning feedback with linear encoders. Rapid setup time and reduced time to achieve first production are expedited with the available KISSware off-line programming software for ease of use. Other available options include a dual solder nozzle pump assembly for greater flexibility and efficiency, fiducial alignment and dual LCD monitors.
