Non-Round AC Current Sensor from Pulse
Oddly shaped AC current sensor fits standard ANSI bus bar.
San Diego, CA — Pulse Electronics Corporation has expanded its Sidewinder
AC current sensor line with the introduction of the PA3207NL. This non-round sensor specifically fits the standard 0.750 x 0.093-in. (19 x 2.4mm) buss bar of an ANSI 2S smart meter, making the design of the meter base simpler and the assembly easier. The current sensor is linear from 0.1A to 200A. It provides extremely accurate measurement of AC current at 50 or 60Hz and meets the ANSI C12.20 standard for immunity to external magnetic fields. The new sensor is a core-less, lightweight, lower cost, AC current sensor for highly accurate metering applications requiring 0.2 percent accuracy. Although primarily designed for smart meter applications, the non-round shape can be used in industrial motor controls, power line monitoring, and in commercial and industrial circuit panels.
