Dallas, TX — Orion Fans, a division of Knight Electronics, has developed a new series of small, powerful vane axial (VXC) fans for harsh, high-static pressure environments for medical, networking and telecom equipment. Designed to deliver airflows of up to 283 CFM in a compact package, the high-pressure Vane Axial Series fans have low weight-to-output ratios, and provide a maximum static pressure range of 0.74 to 1.85-in. of water column.

The compact Vane Axial Series DC fans are currently available in four sizes: OD1238VA — 120 x 38mm (4.7 x 1.5-in.), OD9238VA — 92 x 38mm (3.62 x 1.5-in.), OD8038VA — 80 x 38mm (3.15 x 1.5-in.), OD6038VA — 60 x 38mm (2.36 x 1.5-in.). The IP55-rated fans are also available with numerous specialty functions, such as pulse-width modulation, a tachometer, an alarm, and thermal control. The VXC Series DC fans provide valuable space savings with increased airflows in all of the available model numbers and sizes. The fans use fiberglass reinforced frames and impellers, dual ball bearings and an auto restart and polarity-protected DC motor. The VXC Series fans are specified for an L10 life expectancy of 65,000 hours. Fans and blowers typically deliver more airflow and cool more effectively when working against a lower static pressure. Unfortunately, high static pressure environments are commonly found in networking and telecom enclosures, industrial electronic cabinets, medical imaging equipment, particularly CT scanners and MRIs. The VXC series helps the design engineer overcome the static pressure limitations in their system.
