Error-Proofing the Process

While working with a specialized thermocouple cable, the company's technicians had been operating by hand using hand tools. The employees were manually cutting, stripping and hand-crimping the specialized cable. This process was not only time-consuming, it opened the door for the possibility of human error.

After reviewing the problem and possible solutions, Schleuniger recommended three machines that would increase the company's productivity and help to automate what was currently a tedious, time-consuming and inconsistent manual process.

Schleuniger recommended the EcoStrip9300 automatic cut and strip machine, the UniStrip 2600 stripping machine and the UniCrimp 200 crimping machine. Each of these products would allow for Kelvin Technologies to achieve the quality they needed while also providing the time and cost efficiency they were looking for.

In addition to error-proofing the process, by purchasing the ES 9300, the UC 200, and the US 2600, Kelvin has saved production time and increased quality as the employees no longer have to measure, cut, strip and crimp the wires by hand. With its ability to perform several steps in one ergonomic program, the company has also gained flexibility for multi-conductor sensor cables with the US 2600. Not only does the machine process specialized thermocouple cable, but because it is fully programmable with up to 1,000 memory locations, the user may program the machine for different operations that make repetitive production a cinch, no matter who is operating the machine.
