CARLSBAD, CA –
Nordson YESTECH, a subsidiary of Nordson Corporation and a leading supplier of automated optical and x-ray inspection systems for the electronics industry, announced today that it has provided additional FX Series automated optical inspection systems to IEC Electronics, a premier provider of electronic manufacturing services, specializing in the custom manufacture of high reliability, complex circuit cards, system level assemblies, custom cable and wire harness assemblies and more. IEC Electronics will utilize their new FX AOI for automated inspection of printed circuit assemblies at their facility in upstate New York.
IEC Electronics awarded the new contract to Nordson YESTECH based on their reliability, proven accuracy and advanced inspection technology, adding their 5th YESTECH system to their quality assurance program. With an emphasis on critical applications, including medical, military, industrial and telecom, IEC relies on their AOI to verify markings and meet stringent quality standards required by the industry. Their user-friendly software was once again a key factor in IEC’s decision to select another Nordson YESTECH system, offering fast set up and customized programming to meet their needs. “Operators are able to program most of our assemblies with very little training,” said Ingmar Chew, Manufacturing Engineer for IEC Electronics. “I have worked with YESTECH AOI systems for many years and can count on their consistently accurate inspection. They greatly improve our process, by allowing us to inspect at any point. The YESTECH AOI systems are also exceptionally easy to program, which is a huge advantage for us, saving valuable time. The FX AOI is by far the most flexible and friendliest inspection system to use in contrast to competitive offerings.”
The FX series delivers a complete inspection solution, providing advanced automated inspection of:
• Solder defects
• Lead defects
• Component presence and position
• Correct part / polarity
• Through-hole parts
The FX Series AOI is equally well suited for high-volume or high mix manufacturing environments, providing fast throughput and high resolution for inspection of 010005 components.
Programming is fast and easy; operators typically take less than 1 hour to create a complete inspection program, including solder inspection. The system utilizes a standard package library to simplify training and insure program portability across manufacturing lines. And because the FX Series is configurable for all line positions, it is equally effective for paste, pre / post-reflow and final assembly inspection. Off-line programming maximizes machine utilization and real-time SPC monitoring provides a valuable yield enhancement solution.
“We are very pleased to once again be selected by IEC Electronics for their AOI needs,” said Troy Johnson, Nordson YESTECH Regional Sales Manager. “Over the years, we have consistently worked to provide the very best AOI solutions to IEC and all our customers. We are pleased that they have once again chosen a YESTECH system, and we look forward to continuing our strong relationship with them.”
