|FORT WORTH, TX −
Employees of Fort Worth-based Allied Electronics, a trading brand of Electrocomponents plc, embraced the spirit of Christmas this holiday season by giving to those in need throughout their communities.
More than 50 employees participated in Allied’s fifth annual “Allied Angel Tree” cause. Benefitting children and mothers of the Battered Women’s Foundation (BWF), employees had the opportunity to adopt an angel from the tree and provide items from a wish list. In addition, Allied employees sponsored seven families through BWF to provide a traditional Christmas dinner and other necessities. Donations included a variety of items, from bedding and toiletries to non-perishable sides and gift certificates for purchasing a turkey or ham.
“We appreciate Allied’s donations,” says Kim Flowers, director at BWF. “We could not do what we do without the help of our community partners.”
Allied also hosted a donation drive to help a local animal rescue shelter, The Abandoned Ones. Participants donated pet food, toys, grooming accessories and more.
“I have worked at several companies, but I have never worked at one with employees as generous and kind as Allied employees,” says Susan Overcash, human resources director at Allied. “I am so proud to say I am an Allied employee.”
