LPKF Laser & Electronics has announced it will exhibit at the 2012 BIOMEDevice Exposition, which takes place December 4-5 at the San Jose Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif. Situated in booth 940, LPKF will be focusing on its innovative laser plastic welding technologies.
Laser plastic welding, also known as through-transmission welding, is a process of bonding plastic using focused laser radiation. Industries with potential applications include the automotive, manufacturing, and medical fields.
The medical device industry in particular benefits from the hygienic, particle-free processing and clean-room compatibility laser plastic welding provides. Potential medical laser plastic welding applications include microfluidic devices, catheters, and intravenous tubing.
Representing LPKF at BIOMEDevice will be Josh Brown, laser plastic welding sales associate. To learn more about LPKF’s laser welding equipment, stop by booth 940 at BIOMEDevice or visit www.lpkfusa.com/lq/index.htm
