Kreuzwertheim, Germany — New from SEHO Systems GmbH is the new PowerWave N2 with the SEHO tunnel concept for reduced nitrogen and energy consumption. The new soldering system is equipped with a closed tunnel and the special design of the stainless steel tunnel results in low nitrogen consumption. The innovative tunnel insulation ensures very high energy efficiency, helping to keep a lid on production costs. Hinged heat-resistant glass covers allow for accessibility to all machine areas.

The PowerWave N2 includes an innovative fluxer unit that reduces flux consumption remarkably, while reducing maintenance requirements. The spray fluxer with HVLP technology (high-volume, low pressure) ensures a stable spray jet and a very precise spray pattern even at the outer edges of printed circuit boards. This creates a reproducible fluxing process with considerably reduced flux consumption. In addition, alcohol-based as well as water-based fluxes can be processed.
The flexible preheating zone configuration with an active length of 1800mm (70.86-in.) enables the system to be customized to specific production needs. Depending on the requirements, the PowerWave N2 may be equipped with infrared heating zones, immediately reacting quartz emitters, or with convection heating modules. The IR preheat zones ensure even heating of the entire assembly while quartz heaters make for a quick heat transfer and compensate for temperature differences caused by unequal masses within the assembly. Each preheat zone can be adjusted individually and is separately monitored and controlled.
The heart of the system, the soldering area, offers a flexible configuration with innovative, up-to-date wave formers combined with a suitable nitrogen atmosphere ensure optimum soldering results. A programmable, automatic height adjustment of the solder nozzles provides flexibility. In addition, the PowerWave N2 is well suited for processing lead-free solder alloys.
The PowerWave N2 is equipped with a state-of-the-art control unit and includes many features that ensure comfortable and continuous control of the machine and process data. Operation is made simple with a touch display, with process visualization and an interactive graphic user interface.
