JST Intros Crimp Style Connectors for Design Flexibility
Waukegan, IL — JST Corporation's new PNI Series of crimp-style connectors offer both wire-to-board and wire-to-wire applications on a 2mm (0.79-in.) pitch. These versatile connectors provide the design flexibility for incorporating either wire-to-wire or wire-to-board connections without switching to a different connector series.
The through-hole headers and housings incorporate both polarization and secure, positive locking. The positive locking has an "inertia lock feature" designed to prevent incomplete mating of the connector halves.
The connectors are especially suited for high vibration
applications. Optional secondary retainers ensure that the contacts are fully seated and locked into the housings to prevent any chance of contact back-out.
The PNI single row, crimp style connector series is available in 2 through 10 circuits and is rated at 3.0A (AC/DC) using a 22 AWG wire at 100V AC/DC. Wire sizes range from AWG 28 to 22. Temperature range is -250 to +850°C including temperature rise caused by electrical current flow.
Contacts are tin-plated over a copper alloy base. The PNI receptacle housings are molded of PA66 Nylon. The top-entry, fully shrouded headers are molded of PBT (glass filled) material. Both are molded in RoHS compliant 94V-0 rated materials. The wire-to-wire receptacles are available with or without unique space-saving panel locks designed to prevent tangling with wires or breaking in cold or dry environments.
Contacts are offered on standard size reels for semi-automatic or fully automatic application tooling.
