"Made in USA" Stars at Design-2-Part Shows
Prospect, CT — As the country is engaged in a manufacturing renaissance and stories of work returning to the U.S. are appearing daily, the Design-2-Part (D2P) Shows will look to continue to support that trend with six fall regional shows. With five of six spring shows competed, D2P has already experienced a very encouraging 6 percent increase in show attendance.

"We were anticipating record attendance for 2012, and the start of the year has exceeded our expectations," said Jerry Schmidt, President of the Design-2-Part Shows. "In our 2011 Outsourcing Survey, U.S. OEMs indicated that ?quality? was their most important factor in measuring outsourcing partners, we are proud to be showcasing America?s finest job shops and contract manufacturers. And in search of that quality, a lot of the attendees walking our shows are looking at bringing jobs previously done offshore back to U.S. soil."

The Design-2-Part fall show slate includes two annual events, two semi-annual shows and a highly anticipated return to the Pacific Northwest with the Northwest Design-2-Part Show, on October 23-24, 2012 at the Portland Expo Center.

Design-2-Part Shows provide design engineers, manufacturing engineers and managers, and purchasers an excellent opportunity to meet local and national job shops and contract manufacturers to source custom and stock parts, components, assembly, and design services. Exhibiting companies will be showcasing their design-through-manufacturing services featuring more than 300 product categories for the metal, plastics, rubber and electronics industries. The shows are working shows and visitors are encouraged to bring sample parts and drawings.

D2P Shows exclusively feature exhibiting job shops and contract manufacturers with manufacturing operations in the United States. Companies that do not have facilities in the U.S. are not permitted to exhibit.

D2P Shows scheduled for the remainder of this year are:

  • Greater Ohio Design-2-Part Show, September 19-20, 2012, John S. Knight Center, Akron, OH.
  • Southern California Design-2-Part Show, October 2-3, 2012, Long Beach Convention Center, Long Beach, CA.
